Affordable Housing Transactions
The firm has developed a significant expertise in affordable housing transactions and has served as lenders counsel to a number of major financial institutions in connection with the financing of such projects throughout the Southeastern United States. In that capacity, the firm has documented numerous acquisition, construction and rehabilitation loans and letter of credit financings involving the use of construction loans, low income housing tax credits and public funds for the construction and rehabilitation of low-income housing. LGP has also served as underwriter=s counsel on a number of single family mortgage revenue bond issues and as trustee=s counsel on a wide array of multifamily revenue bond issues. Over the past few years, the firm has served as lender’s counsel on numerous tax credit financings for the construction of affordable and workforce housing in Florida, Georgia and Louisiana.
Representative Affordable Housing transactions:
• Representation of lender in connection with $11,600,000 tax credit construction financing for signature affordable housing project in downtown Tampa, Florida involving the rehabilitation of a former church
• Representation of lender in connection with a series of tax credit construction financings for the development of affordable housing in Decatur, Georgia
• Representation of lender in connection with a number of tax credit construction financings for benefit of The Related Group of Florida to finance the construction and rehabilitation of affordable housing throughout the State of Florida
• Representation of major affordable housing developer in connection with the acquisition of several real estate parcels in South Florida to be used for the development of affordable housing projects
