Mr. Schaeffer is a Partner and a member of the Firm’s Litigation Department. Mr. Schaeffer joined the Firm in 2011 and focuses his practice on representing financial institutions and individuals in complex commercial and real estate litigation matters in state and federal courts across south and central Florida. He has significant experience representing clients in a wide variety of litigation matters including breach of contract litigation, real estate and title litigation, Ponzi scheme related litigation, class action litigation, tort claims, creditors’ rights litigation, probate litigation, non-compete/non-solicitation enforcement, and complex maritime and insurance litigation. Mr. Schaeffer also advises businesses and individuals on risk reduction strategies, insurance claim issues, and responding to subpoenas and other legal process. He also has experience handling real estate and lending transactional and title related matters.
Mr. Schaeffer is admitted to practice in Florida and in the United States District Courts of the Southern and Middle Districts of Florida. He obtained his Juris Doctor from the University of Miami School of Law, graduating magna cum laude. During law school, he served as a member of the University of Miami’s Business Law Review and completed a clinical internship program at the Community Economic Development and Design Clinic hosted by the University of Miami’s Center for Ethics and Public Service. Mr. Schaeffer also has a strong background and understanding of business and finance, having received his Bachelor of Science cum laude in economics and minoring in finance at the College of Charleston.
